Kevin and I went and rode his proposed course for the 6 hour race at Banner today. Mean technical course, with the stoutest climb in the Forest (Broken Arrow). Laps will probably average 45 minutes, unless conditions are really bad. The trails are in pretty great shape except for one area that's bad most of the year...
This should be a great event, and Kevin tells me he's working on a longer event up at Port Gamble later this year....

RACE FREE: Volunteer 3 hours at the 6 Hours of Banner Forest XC Mountain Bike Race (on April 3rd - 9:00 to 3:00) and race free at Stottlemeyer. Volunteering involves being a course marshall for a 3 hour shift or doing trail maintenace (at Banner) the following day (3 hours). Email me directly if interested (kjreinken@comcast.net). The Banner race is in Port Orchard. If you are currently registered to race Banner, but you want to take advantage of the free racing offer at Stottlemeyer; bring a volunteer to the Banner race.
